Ribociclib, lymphodema and blood tests

Hi All

I developed lymphodema in my right arm during radiotherapy. I’m starting on ribociclib next week and know it involves lots of blood tests. I have poor veins so I’m worried about numerous needles in one arm. It’s going to get very painful. The anaesthetist took 3 goes and she does it all the time! Does anyone have experience of using an arm with lymphodema for blood tests?

Hi @lollipop1

They don’t recommend having blood tests or blood pressure checks done on an arm with lymphodema. If the veins in your other arm are not very good it might be worth asking if you can have a PICC, Hickman or port fitted. I hope this helps and your treatment goes well. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
