Why oh why are the “latest” figures available SIX YEARS out of date?
Research is inevitably going to use data from the past. If you want a 'logitundinal study over time then its old data.
This is an interesting piece of reserach though not new information. Working class women are less likely to get breatst cancer than middle class women though outcomes are poorer.
You couldn’t do this kind of large scale over time reserach using more recent data…think about it…those diagnosed last year are mainly going to be alive so lookign at those figures won’t tell you about long term survival. …
The most recent factual information on breast cancer is the diagnostic rates (about 46,000) and the death rates (about 12,300) for 2006…these are on the CRUK website.

BTW my Metro paper said that the higher middle class survival rates were probably down to the “nagging” factor ie that more affluent women would pester their doctors more!
I’m saving but it’s a shame about the stock exchange crash, presumably this will have an impact on breast cancer deaths,
