RIP sdfmeg1 Margaret

i don’t really know what to say… Shock has taken hold.
i never met with Maragret either, but we were friends on FB and messaged each other.
Maragret always made me smile, she was a practical, honest and compassionate person. Words just don’t seem adequate.
I can only imagine how her family are feeling, and my heart goes out to them…
I’m going to miss her too. xxxx

So shocked to hear Margaret has been taken and so very suddenly, Margaret was one of the first people to support me when I first joined this site, she was a very compassionate lady and inspiration to us all.
My sincere condolences to her family and friends, we have all lost a wonderful virtual friend.
R.I.P Margaret as peace and free from pain. xxx

Like many others Margaret was the first to offer me support and advise when I needed it. It is such a shock and so sad that this terrible disease has taken her. My heartfelt sympathy goes to her family and those of you who knew her personally. May she rest in. Peace xx

Very sad to hear this. Rest in Peace Margaret. Xx

I am shocked and deeply upset by this sad news. Margaret was a great inspiration and a truly lovely person. My thoughts are with her family xxx

So very, very sad, read many of Margaret’s posts, sincere condolences to her family and friends xx

Margaret will be missed by so many. For me it was her humour and good advice that kept me going through chemo. I’m so sad that we will never meet. My thought and prayers go to her family.

I second all these condolences- she was clearly a beautiful person and a great role model who reached out to so many on these threads without a trace of selfishness-great respect.
JEW thanks for dropping into May Moonbeams; it’s been quite a month!

I have decided to dedicate my Race for Life to Margaret’s memory, I am doing a 10K walk on July 14th in Stevenage with my friend Carol. If any of you feel you would like to contribute here is my JustGiving page. I hope this is taken in the way it is meant and that I am not being cheeky, that’s the last thing I want, I just need to do something to help find the cures that will stop this happening to others and their families, hopefully I am one of the lucky ones, at the moment I am fit and well, but as we all know you never know what may be lurking around the corner. Rest in peace Margaret, you will always be in my thoughts x.

I think that is a lovely idea Nicola and I am sure Margaret would second it. I just feel a bit lost really. I am still in shock that this could happen so quickly and it fills me with dread for myself and my family. God knows how Margaret’s family must feel. I have messaged Ella, Margaret’s daughter, to say that many people have been as stunned as myself to hear their news and many people wish to send their condolences. Margaret was a prolific poster, always knowledgable and often witty and I shall miss her wisecracks, dark sense of humour and sage words of wisdom. Even though I only knew her for a short time my life feels richer for knowing her. If the family are happy, I will post details re: flowers/donations etc, when I have them. RIP Margaret. An angel taken too soon. Free from pain. But our sorrow at your passing will remain every day. Emma x

It is with great shock I read this thread and just want to send my deepest condolences to Margaret’s family and friends at this deeply sad time. I can’t believe that this inspirational and remarkable lady has been taken so suddenly, I am deeply sorry
God Bless

RIP Margaret.

Hello everyone,

I want to do something proactive in memory of my mum, so I have been training for the Macmillan Lido Challenge. Mum always really supported me throughout my swimming training and competitions (even when I wasn’t so keen!), so it really seems like a great way to remember her

I am also trying to write a blog, although I have a fair few sessions to catch up on writing about!

I want to continue to keep raising money for cancer support, so once I have completed the Lido challenge, I am going to do a sponsored swim for the Cancer Care forum and Cancer Research. Any other recommendations are more than welcome!

Thank you all so much for your kind messages and support.

Owen x
