RIP sdfmeg1 Margaret

I have just heard the devestating news from Ella, Margaret’s daughter, that Margaret passed away at 4 am this morning. She was admitted to hospital over the weekend, after deteriorating very rapidly, and ws taken away very quickly but peacefully. I had only just received a card from her on Friday wishing me luck for my op last week and had planned to call her this afternoon. I am absolutely devastated. We had planned to meet up later this year when we had got through all our treatment. Although I never met her personally, we had a great friendship online and by phone and she supported me a lot and helped me and gave me a lot of advice about treatment options. She was fiesty and frank and funny and supremely brave. And she was a damn fine dressmaker to. I would like to pass all on my condolences onto her wonderful OH and her children and her family at this time. I can’t believe this has happened, and so suddenly. To lose one so brave and wonderful is very hard indeed. Words cannot express the grief I feel and extreme sorrow and pain for her family. Rest peacefully with the angels Margaret. All my love to you and I shall think of you every day. Emma x

I am so shocked and saddened to read this… I didn’t really know Margaret but know that her posts were greatly appreciated by so many on these forums, and she was still actively posting just a few days ago.

Sincere condolences to her family.

RIP Margaret, free from pain and sorrow.

Hi all,

Thank you so much for your messages and support. This has come as such a shock for our family and mum’s friends. We really thought she had beat cancer again. I wish I could have been there more for her in her fight. She was a brilliant mum, I love her and I will miss her so much. Thank you Emma for passing the message on and for supporting Margaret through her difficult times.

On behalf of myself and all of mum’s family I wish you the best and thank you warmly again.

Margaret’s son Owen

I am so sad that Margaret has passed. I intended to meet up with her one day and give her a hug, as ‘thanks’ for all the support she offered me. She was a lovely person. I shall miss her, even though we only knew each other through occasional messages.

I didn’t know Margaret either, but like so many others, she was one of the first to answer my questions and wish me well. She was a prolific poster and a great help to so many of us. So sad for her family and friends.
Emma, my thoughts are with you too, at the loss of your great friend.

Margaret was a wonderful person. She helped me and others through tough times despite facing so many problems herself. We went through chemo together and she was always there with support and humour. My deepest sympathy for her family and friends. I feel very sad that I will not get to meet Margaret in person, see any more pictures of her amazing dressmaking creations, or read any more of her thoughtful or funny posts. RIP Margaret, taken away too soon but never forgotten.

So very, very sad to read this. Margaret’s posts were kind and supportive, often funny and always wise.
Heartfelt condolences to you Owen, and to all Margaret’s family and friends. RIP XXXXXXX

So sad and absolutely unbelievable that somebody so full of fight and spirit can be taken from her lovely family. Taken too young. Thinking of her family and friends at this very very sad time. May you rest in peace with the angels my lovely x x

I am lost for words - I only knew Margaret from our Facebook group, and this is such a shock - it took her so fast.
She was such a ‘doer’- the steampunk dresses she made are just amazing!
I am so sad that we never got to meet in person.

I am completely saddened and shocked by this news.

Margaret was a lovely lady with a great sense of humour who gave lots of support to us september sapphires. I can’t believe she has gone, she only messaged me on the 4th May with little indication of what lay ahead - it must have happened so quickly. My heart goes out to her family, it must have been such a shock for them.
Rest in peace Margaret. x
