Royal Marsden - Sutton
Royal Marsden - Sutton I’ve now got my second opinion at the Sutton branch of the Royal Marsden on tuesday 5th June in the afternoon.
Does anybody know if I would be able to get parked then - preferably in a disabled bay or should I just park elsewhere and get a bus/taxi?
If anybody is going there on that day in the afternoon - can you say hello to me as I will be on my own!! I’m usually quite confident in going to new places but this time I’m really nervous. Stupid really as I’ve been having continuous treatment at my local hospital for over 2 years so you would think I would be used to it by now!!!
I’ve also posted this on the ‘other’ site.
Any info appreciated.
Thanks
Kate
Hi Kate The marsden (sutton) has on site parking but it is quite difficult to find a place-and it’s expensive ( £2 an hour I think the last time I went).Parking outside the hospital is now also very restricted.I ask a lady who was treated with me to take me as she works there voluntarily and has a parking permit -though that’s not a lot of use to you! Hopefully there will be many more girls on here who will have helpful suggestions.

have been treated there Hi Kate,
just to let you know I had my treatments there and two 8day hospital stays and they couldnot have been more lovely.
Hope your news is what you hope for and I am sure you can phone them and ask about parking, they are helpful. There are buses that go into the hospital, but that may be difficult or you.
Good luck and I am sure if any of us are there we will say hi.

Hi Kate,
I am also at the marsden and will be there on the 5th june for my second chemo of FEC. i have had a few appointments at the marsden so far and have found all the staff lovely and welcoming and very helpful. to get to the car park you drive through a lift up barrier, up a small slope, there is disabled parking facilities but not too many parking spaces if I can rember rightly. parking is about 1-2 pounds for 2 hours. i was actually pleasently suprised on my first visit there as the hospital looks as if it should be private.
hope this helps. may see you there?
Good luck with yor treatment

Hi ladies I moved near the royal Marsden but am still being treated at St Georges in Tooting. I am happy there as I know all the staff and I have a fab surgeon but I am thinking in time once i have had my second opp I may moved there.
For those of you who do go to the Marsden do you live near by??
it would be really nice if we could meet up every now and then let me know what you think and we can arrange something
