running and aerobics after surgery

Any experience or advice out there about getting back to running / aerobics after surgery? I had a WLE and node clearance on my left side about 8 weeks ago. I have run every day since my teens and managed to maintain my training throughout chemo before surgery, albeit running slower and not so far. Running keeps me sane and I really need it right now. I tried a slow jog for the first time today but the discomfort in my boob resulted in me holding it firmly in my palm most of the time. Not a good look in public! I have a high impact sports bra that fits well. Is it ok to run through the discomfort (not unlike tender boobs before your period) or do I wait a while before I try again? If I have to wait then how long? I don’t feel like me if I can’t run
