Running for the Hills

One lymph node infected should I be panicking - everyone else seems to think this is bad news but I’m stage 2 and only the one but I think that is good … or am i just being blaize.

Hi Lazydaisy, I had a lot more infected nodes (8 out 17) but think if you have any infected nodes your onc will recommend chemo + radiotherapy versus if you have no nodes infected you’d only had radiotherapy.
Hope you get to the bottom of it and have a nice weekend x

Hi lazydaisy, I don’t post much on here nowdays I just come and have a read sometimes but had to reply to your post. I had 1 node affected and was stage 2. I knew from the start that 1 was affected as it showed on the scan and was biopsied along with my breast lump so I had node clearance at same time as they removed the tumour. The surgeon said that a few more nodes were enlarged and looked suspicious so I was relieved when the results showed that they were clear and only the 1 was affected.  I was diagnosed 7 and a half years ago and am fine (touch wood lol). there are thousands and thousands cancer free now years after diagnosis who had many nodes affected.

Wishing you all the best xX

Hi first note was affected iut others were clear but they had taken them anyway whe rem oved lump , and i,m now on tamoxifen, fine so far, and have rads in April no chemo.  and i feel very well.  Mine was stage 2 but agressive which made it stage 3 but was small and found early. So it seems one node doesent mean chemo,. once lump and nodes remmoved i felt a lot happier, the no chemo was a great bonus.June
