SABR for bone mets??

Hi Everyone,

I’m trying to find out if anywhere in the UK is offering SABR for oligometastatic bone mets from Breast cancer.

I’m aware there have been some trials (SABR-COMET) and may now be phase 3 trials (SABR-COMET 3 & 10).

But I would love to find out more info.

Which centres are taking part?

Has anyone been involved in trials or treatment and have info to share.

Thanks in advance

I had stereotactic radiotherapy following decompression and fixation surgery to a single bone met at L2 which fractured and caused spinal cord compression in August 2019 at the Royal Marsden Hospital  in London.  It was not a trial as far as I know.  The team at the hospital where I had my spinal surgery referred me and it went ahead without any problem.  Good luck with it x

Hi

Jane

yes the marsden does it

getting mine done two lesions this week and next. No symptoms on PET but getting them zapped!

Jane, I had SABR for oligomet in soft tissue (not bones) at the Royal Surrey in Guildford in 2020.  It was part of a commissioning study that I think they were leading, which was very successful & SABR is being rolled out.

It might be worth a call to them to ask if there are other places doing bones.  The consultant was femal with a surname beginning with E, in the Radiology team.
