My oncodx was 26 so I’ll be starting chemo in July however, I’m curious Has anyone ever choose against having chemotherapy and what the odds are if not having it.
I had Prosigna and came back with a 11% chance of reoccurrence within 10 years
PREDICT v 2 (not the latest one ie v 3 as oncologists say they haven’t endorsed it) said chemo will reduce the risk by 4% so I’m starting in July too.
Did your onco go over PREDICT & Oncotype score with you?
This helped me make a decision and decide which treatment was best bearing in mind my intermediate risk vs high risk (having TC x 4 over 12 weeks INSTEAD of EC X 4 + PAX x 4 over 16 weeks)
Landing in the intermediate zone is tough (I know first hand) decision wise.
Good luck x
I was referred to oncology 2 weeks ago and not heard anything as yet… I surmise they will discuss al this with me and then I make a decision… thankyou good luck xx
Hi,
My oncotype score was 28 so chemo was then suggested by the oncologist which I wasn’t expecting as had previously been told I wouldn’t need it.
I asked what the benefits would be to me in relation to my 10yr survival rate which was already quite high, and it was just going to add another 4%. I am 58 and had chemo in 2020 when I had TNBC,so for me it wasnt wirth the benefit thus time round so I declined it.
If my circumstances were different i.e younger , with young children then I would have taken the chemo again but I am happy with my choice and mzde syre I had all the facts before making that decision.
Best of luck to you on your journey.
Take care.xxx
I don’t understand any of it at the minute to be honest but it’s apparent how individual it all it is … x
