hi
i felt around my scar today quite lumpy near by i am 7 weeks post op and worried anyone else had this

Whilst you wait for the other forum users to reply with their experiences please do give the BCC helpline a call and talk your concerns through with one of the members of staff, who are there to offer emotional support as well as practical information.

Hi Jenny 5931,
Have you had a lumpectomy or mastectomy? I had a lumpectomy and the area along the scar felt harder and lumpier and my surgeon advised using E45 cream to help soften it. Although it still feels pretty much the same after rads too. I f you’re really worried don’t hesitate to call your BCN xx

I had lumpectomy Nov 2010.scar was still lumpy 18 months later.x

Hi Jenny
I am 3 weeks post op and my scar is a little bit lumpy as well,Im not over worried as I think it just takes time to settle.

I would massage daily with either bio oil or E45. Even a few years post mx I am still doing this, it really does help to get a smooth finish.
