Yay well done you did it! I actuually quite enjoy my visits in a strange way -a relaxing time with my book and puzzles, plus food! Also the lady next to me today shared my birthday - cue a little chat about birthdays near Christmas! So glad you’ve finally had your first chemo ticked off now @bluesatsuma. Re side effects I would say keep any handy meds you have at hand and take as soon as you need them (IF you need them)
We’re getting there!
Well done ! So brave ! I’ve Got my date now - 24th September . Did you get your pics line done b4 ? I need one as they have struggled 3 times to get veins in surgery but they told me today I would have it after the 1st chemo at some point ready for next cycle ?
Thanks!
@anne3 will definitely have those meds ready. The anti sickness meds i had before lasts 5 days but I’ve got some other pills to top up. Hope you’re doing well x
@epic1 thats good that you have a date. My picc was meant to be done between 1st and 2nd cycle but when i went for pre assessment yesterday, they squeezed me in and i had it done there. It was a bit uncomfortable but it did not hurt at all. It made the chemo much easier. Hope you get yours soon. X
Well done on getting your first lot over with! Thank you for your insight - I will be starting treatment on 5 September and it’s good to hear it wasn’t as bad as expected. Fingers crossed that you have minimal or no side effects xx
Well done bluesatsuma keep drinking water to help flush things through Shi xx
@sharlou thank you. It really wasnt anything like what they show in movies. I felt very cared for and safe. There were 8 in my room and 3 members of staff helping us all. Peace and quiet from my kids! Not long to wait for you. Hope all goes well xxx
Super dooper, well done x
Drink lots of fluids, eat small and often, smoothies are great
Rest up but also do some gentle exercise if you can

I’m having my picc line out in this week and chemo starts 16th so found your reply interesting for my next few weeks as I’ve been wondering what I need to take with me so many thanks
I promise you that once youve got your first round over with it gets a whole lot easier.
Be kind to yourself; rest & cry if you need to cry. Youll get theough this x
