Hello my name is Ashley, I am 26 years old and I am new to this site. 7 years ago I discovered a lump in my left breast… I did end up getting a ultrasound was not a cyst so I did get a mammogram and a biopsy all in the same day, I was alone and it was very scary! The lump did come back benign. Recently the last 4 months I’ve noticed the same lump as gotten bigger, I did end up getting another ultrasound this past Wednesday the called me today and said they compared testa from 7 years ago and would like me to come in Monday for another mammogram I’m terrified!
Hi Ashley… I have a daughter called Ashleigh!! Don’t be too alarmed at the moment. At your age, it’s unlikely to be anything nasty. It’s more likely that they just want to do another check to be sure. Generally speaking, fibroadenomas tend to get bigger in younger women, so it’s probably that… which is a benign condition. If it has grown by a lot, they may offer to remove it. I’ve had two removed, one at 19 and one four years ago… The second was found two years earlier, but they only took it out when it had increased in size.
Try not to occupy your mind with something to help stop you worrying too much; easy said, I know!
My Ashleigh is 22 and has 2 lumps; like mother like daughter! Hers are both fibroadenomas, and they gave her the option of having them removed, but she has chosen not to… she says she’s have nothing left!
Best of luck, the waiting is the worst bit… let me know how you get on. Mel. xx
