So tomorrow I have to get a biopsy of my left breast & possibly of my axillary lymph nodes if the swelling is still present, which it is. I’m very scared and anxious. A close friend of mine whom is only a year older than me (I’m 31) was diagnosed with TNBC last Monday & started her first of 16 chemotherapy treatments yesterday. She is the third person I went to school with to be diagnosed with breast cancer. I have yet to find what makes a breast shrink in size, I only see breast cancers that make the breast bigger. Just some kind reassuring words would be helpful. Xoxo
Hi Mommyof2.
It is a scary process but you are doing the right thing, both getting it checked out and posting on the forum. Firstly, try to keep positive , it’s not bc until you’re told it is. Don’t google for information or take anyone else’s diagnosis and try to match their outcome to yourself - we’re all individual and there are many causes of breast problems and many types of cancer with different treatments - for example, I didn’t have chemo though many people do. The hospital will give you lots of info if/when you know something definite.
Take someone to the appointment if you can - it is scary and bewildering to even get to grips with thinking it might be cancer. A smiling face or someone to talk to when you are waiting for procedures is invaluable. Lastly, you’re not alone. There are many of us out here on the forum to encourage and support whatever it turns out to be. Good luck for later.
Lots of love and hugs xxx
