Scarfs or hats

Hi, I have stage ll breast cancer. Had my third chemo, hair is starting to fall off. Any suggestions on what’s comfortable to wear, a scarf or a hat. I never wear anything on my head. Any suggestions would help.

Hey,
Each person is different. It’s whatever you find works for you. I tried the “chemo” branded hats you can buy and didn’t like how they looked on me, so I ended up just wearing beanie hats. You can get soft slouch style beanies to normal wool beanies. I got a few and depending on what I wear I just pick whatever beanie works.
Try a few different ones. Just bear in mind, your head will sweat too so if you find one you like get a couple. I was surprised by how much my head sweats with no hair! :joy:

Hi,
I also didn’t like the ones suggested for chemo, although I did get a silky one to wear to a wedding.
I mostly wore a “buff”, knotted or twisted at the back to fit. They come in nice soft cotton fabric, and are cheap enough that you can have a number of colours and patterns to suit your mood  They can also be worn as an extra layer under a beanie when it’s really cold, and even if your head gets cold or prickly in bed!
Best wishes, hope you find something you like X Jules

Hi, it’s personal preference . I find beanies are good . I bought a warm fleece lined North Face one for going outside walking or round the shops. Great as can’t tell no hair underneath. I have a couple of slouch lightweight beanies for home during the day. Stripy and look nice with a jumper of fleece. And teo light sleep ones as head is freezing at night even if rest of me is snug in the duvet! Bought all these Beanies on Amazon and were reasonably priced and easy to return if don’t like them.

Hope you find something you like , best wishes :hugs:

I’ve worn a mixture of different hats and scarves. I have a couple of bandanas, a knitted beanie (ironically one with a hole in the top for a ponytail), a bucket hat I have decorated with badges and a glamorous silk scarf for special occasions

Hi
Have you looked at the look good, feel better website, Headwrappers website and cancer hair care?

All of them have lots of great information, insights, hints and tips and videos to help with scarf, turbans and feeling confident without spending s fortune

Gok Wan and his fabulous friend fanny mcphee did some very helpful videos on hair coverings on Instagram

I did cold capping but lost about 50% of my thick hair and wearing hats, scarves and turbans helped and some family and friends said i looked beautiful which helped on horrid days

Since chemo and radiotherapy finished 3 months ago ive been using Watermans products and they are fab for regrowth

Good luck
