…why else would I have bought two evenings dresses and no sign of any event in which to wear them. Also I am feeling the effects of the post christmas credit crunch and had promised to be financially frugle. Is this a symptom of further mets in the gormless zone.
do you think this condition might extend to rainwear? I have recntly purchased a ridiculously expensive mac and a don’t need top of the range cagoule. Why?
Jane
You might need them Jane…you know what our Summers are like!
Jane - will it go with a black or fuschia ballgown?
Erm, and a pair of beautiful suede high heeled boots. Back ache? What back ache?
Long live the credit crunch - always have been one who swam against the tide.

What about two jackets from Monsoon that are at least 2 sizes too small!! To go with at least 6 tops from various places that will just look nice in my wardrobe!!
Will never fit in a month of Sundays…
Julie
YAY not just me then! Just spent a fortune on clothes, went nuts in th shop with ‘i’ll have that, an that, oh an that’ kind of approach. If i get the wear i should out of it all it’ll be a miracle! And what the heck I’m going to do with all those jumpers is beyond me.
Raise a glass to retail therapy!
Nikki
Nikki - Have my glass in my hand - and a bag of returns that just will not, never will fit, to go back tomorrow - and plans on what to repace them with. I just love retail therapy and these days, no one can deny it me.
As they are always telling us - you can’t take it with you…
Hey, Celeste I’ve just bought the shoes to go with your fuschia ballgown - lovely pink satin slingbacks - bound to come in useful and what a saving! Maybe we can go to a ball as a team?
Nicky
Great idea Nicky - only problem is I can only wear flat shoes these days, because of the limp and stuff. How on earth do you wear a ball gown with flat shoes for goodness sake. I could paint my muckers I suppose - a vision is starting to appear!
Hmmm, have just been reviewing the lime-ish green short velvet dress I bought today. It’s all sounding a bit Opal Fruity here. Think we should showcase our purchases at the next secondaries meet!
Jane, had to laugh at the top of the range cagoule - if I remember rightly, you hate all that outdoorsy action stuff, don’t you?
Week after I got my secondary diagnosis I bought a ridiculous coat which was very fashionable and hideously expensive but never quite looked the part on me and sits in my wardrobe looking very neglected but at the time I HAD to have it.
I have a weakness for bags and found myself buying one (with matching purse) last week in lovely vintage gift / clothes type shop that I just happened to tumble into after my brain MRI despite getting 2 similar (but oh so different) bags for christmas. Unlike the coat, I will actually use them though.
I just had a thought, you know the BCC fashion show …? We could have an alternative secondaries show whereby we pool all our random buys and put them together. I’m thinking …Celeste’s evening dress with Jane’s top of the range cagoule … with Deirdre’s boots and one of my many bags. It’s a look.

Oh an alternative Fashion Show…great.
You’re right ripley…outdoorsy stuff not really my thing!
I too have many expensive (half price) handbags…
Jane
You go girls! The economy needs you right now. I have far too much make-up rather than clothes…when I was first diagnosed Clinique discontinued my favourite lipstick so I quickly bought 9 (yes 9) of a shop’s remaining stock. I thought the lipsticks would outlast me but I used the last one a short while ago.
Oh actually …yes handbags…I do have 10 Radley bags!
Mine is shoes very weird and beautiful designer shoes by Jan Janson the shop is in St Ives and as my feet have not spread like my butt has I can still flaunt my feet.
Could do with a cagoule for walking dogs, that’s as outdoorsy as I get.

oh my goodness … have just found Jan Jansen www and have found a pair of shoes that were made to surely go with one of my bags… This thread could prove dangerous.
Belinda I have a number of unused Clinique lipsticks that I have bought and not used and wonder what your discontinued colour was? I always think a new colour will do me good and it looks fine on my hand but when on my lips next to vampire white skin it just doesnt’t go.

I thought I was being flash by wearing el natura lista’s (well flash flat anyway) but now that I’ve googled Jan Jansen I must have some! Even tho I know that I’ll never be able to walk in them. They are gorgeous, love the black and leopardskin. Wizzing off to e bay now!
I promise you they are easy to walk in, they just look like thy aren’t. Leather is so soft very kind to chemo feet!

Ha…just googled Jan JansOn…and expecting shoes I got a gastroenterolgist! :-)…finally found Jan JensEn…lovely shoes but my feet look like puffy suet puddings at the moment…(very accurate good description of them.)
Hi Angee it was Berry Berry Matte…but then I found a lighter colour (when I’d used up all 9 of them) which is more flattering for my pale winter face. xx
I want those Jan Jansen clogs - always had at least 30 pairs of shoes and decided last year, this must stop but now seeing the red clogs I want them!!!
I keep buying necklace and earrings sets. I think i have enough different ones to match any of your coloured dresses, handbags and shoes although I’m doubtful whether any would go with Jane’s cagoule!!
I seem to keep buying tins of grapefruit and tapioca and have enough body butter to moisturise the whole street!! I also have a spectacular collection of eyeliner and mascara which of course was so useful when I had no eyelashes!!!
