I’ve not long been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer which is in my spine, I am recovering from back surgery and am awaiting my pre assessment for my chemo treatment. After 17 years from my initial diagnosis of breast cancer it has come as a bit of a shock especually with the uncertainty of it. I was wondering as it is my second time around of having cancer am I not entitled to a breast care nurse or any support as when I went to see my oncologist I was given the outline if my treatment, that the cancer can be managed and not cured and that was it, no offer of support. Its a fairly hefty thing to process and come to terms with and felt that I had been a little short changed by the hospital.
Hi Janie.d, sorry you find yourself back in the world of cancer again after 17 years. You may find better support from the following thread where others are more experienced at the protocols for secondary disease.
