Hi ladies I have to have an injection on tuesday for the SNB they said the die will be injected on Wednesday when I have my MX will the injection on Tuesday be very painfull and what else to expect have read different opinions on the internet so thought I would ask what to expect from anyone who as had this, thanks Celia.x
Hi Celia
I didn’t really feel anything to be honest, just a bit of a sting but certainly not painful or unbearable and it doesn’t take that long; the waiting around the hospital is the worst bit! It makes your ‘wee’ turquoise the day after the op. I had mine at the end of June and I still have the ‘blue boob’
Good luck for your op, hope all goes well for you
Hope this helps, Denise
I had snb in march. I had radioactive dye injected before the op. Didn’t hurt me, easier than the biopsies . The dye was injected during surgery I think. The blue splodge on my breast went within a few weeks. The blue wee was odd for the first day or two. But the injection really was gone. Good luck. Vickie . Xxx

Celia - I had WLE/SNB a year ago. My radioactive injection was given during the morning and I had the op in the afternoon, during which they injected the actual dye. The injection was a little uncomfortable as it was near the nipple but very quick and nothing to worry about. They also take images (x-rays, I suppose) at that time, to aid the surgeon. As the others say, you end up with various blue bits including blue wee and even my face looked a bit grey.
Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Hi Celia,
I had my op last Sep, and to be honest the radio active injection wasn’t that bad at all. I have extremely tough boobs, according to the biopsy nurses, so they even struggled to get the needle in but it didn’t really hurt at all. The blue dye was injected during the op and as everyone said it does turn your wee and boob blue.
I still have a bit of a “smurf” boob but nowhere near as bad as when it was first done.
Good luck, take care of you, Jo xoxoxo
I had SNB in March this year - had the procedure the day before and no it didn’t hurt at all, just lay back and it was over, less painful than the ‘prick’ for giving blood.
good luck with the op next week xxx
Thanks everyone good to know it’s not too painful just goes to show I should not trawl the internet and get in a state, feeling better about it now,

Can only echo what others have said, This is not painful procedure.
I too was warned about the grey complexion and blue pee afterwards, but didn’t experience either of those. I did have some blue patches around my nipple but those have nearly all gone already - after less than four weeks. As others have already said, the radioactive injection wasn’t painful, and the blue dye one was done under anaesthetic at the beginning of the operation so I didn’t feel that at all.
