Sept 2025 chemo starters

@story1 Hadn’t thought of anthropology… that’s another shopping trip required! I’m going for a port - mainly because I want to be able to have a long soak in the bath or a swim if I feel up to it. I had the ugliest cry of my life after the oncologist but was luckily by myself… the dog didn’t know what was going on! Think we all need to cry when we feel like it - it was a big release.

When do you start @cridders ? Yes agree I’d be such a clutz with a picc I think. I’m having my BIAB nail gels off tomorrow now that’s a sad day!! I was told by a nail technician that it was best to get them off as there is potential for a reaction to the chemo. Got my polygel ordered from Amazon . @molly.m also looked at wigs xxx

I’m getting nails off tomorrow :sob:

Chemo and immuno starts on Thursday for me. All feeling too real now but glad it’s getting underway.

Thank you @bellbert it’s so good to find this group, it just feels comforting to listen to everybody x

Ah @cridders I feel your pain! All go for Thursday, sending love xx I’ve loved having different coloured nails all summer! I was planning navy next. Ah well, I guess mouth pastilles will have to do :):rofl:

It’s my one bit of self care so gutted but going to have to find something else… which is apparently buying big earrings and bright head coverings for now! Hope you Onc goes ok tomorrow - it can be info overload so take your time and don’t be worried to ask lots of questions… or be like me and go in to total brain freeze and think of 50 questions once I had left.

I’ve got a list! I’ll probably dribble and not ask any of them x Bandanas are so in for the winter, love the big earrings idea, and the bright colours, like, hello! I’ve got a dog too and she’s been all over me❤️

Morning  Love your dog, what breed is she and her name ? I have the diabetic, almost blind ( had cataract surgery, but not particularly successful), Border terrier, Bella and a 1/2 Lhasa X Jack Russell called Bertie ( who I am allergic to, so live with air purifiers and occasional anti histamines!)

@bellbert aww! This is Poppy she’s a border/Jack 12 yrs old still behaves like a 2 yr old! Very cuddly and affectionate xx how do you cope being allergic!? Xx

Hi, when do you start the injections? How many days post chemo and for how many days?
I’m starting the chemo tomorrow……

Hi. I had my first EC on Friday and started injections Sunday 5 to do so takes me up to Thursday. Good luck for tomorrow xx

Good luck for tomorrow! I’m starting on Thursday and have spent today bumbling around in a bit of a daze about it! It’s all just so surreal at times.

She is adorable, my last dog was a border/jack and she was the doggie love of my life. Picture of my two Hooligans attached, almost blind border ( Bella) and Lhasa X JR ( Bertie ) . I didn’t realise I was allergic to Bertie for almost a year, but then realised I had more difficulty breathing, when confined in a car with him, or if he had recently given me a kiss ( he rubs noses). So since then, air purifiers everywhere, occasional anti histamines, he is washed every couple of months with an anti dander shampoo and I use a saline nose spray, to minimise the effects  Jane

Gorgeous x

If we are doing dog pics this is my old bird… Lupo is a 12 year old Hungarian vizsla. She is very excited to have mummy home with her more over the next few months!

She is beautiful and very regal! I work at home anyway ( with my husband) so our two are rather spoilt, games on tap

Anybody know if I will likely have to do injections when on weekly paclitaxel and 3 weekly carbo? Will also be doing immuno alongside. Don’t have call with chemo nurse until 4pm tomorrow and I’m starting chemo the next day at 11. I have so many questions she’ll need more than the 20minutes scheduled!
