Daffodil please check with your team all ok just in case you need antibiotics for anything I always checked with my team about everything during chemo so they could get me safely through sorry you’ve had to miss your sons football but there will be more times ahead that you can watch and cheer him on you get safely through chemo so you can Shi xx
Thanks Shi, I’m ok I think, temp is fine again now, don’t want to go to hosp unless I abs have to…
If you have any old clothes for recycling Asda George do a recycling scheme which supports Breast Cancer Now, Coppa Feel and they give you a 10% code off next purchase
understand daffodil, keep eye on throat just in case it’s thrush mouth and it’ll need antibiotics glad temp back to normal. Keep eye out for wee burning with no temp spike it’ll probably be a uti caused by the chemo and again will need antibiotics keep safe hope your son won at football Shi xx
Hi Shi, thanks, will do.
Hope all you ladies are ok as things are quiet on here. I wonder if you’re finding chemo more challenging as time is going on? I know I am. Tiring much more quickly. Even a bit breathless by the time I get to the top of the stairs, then my temp goes low and takes a little while to get back to normal. Also had some palpitations yesterday for a short time. I did call the 24 hour number but didn’t have to go in fortunately. Looking forward to hearing how you’re all doing
I’ve been having issues with the forum not loading all the posts so have moved to a different browser.
I’m due my third EC of four on Thurs, but seem to be doing ok. I was a bit of a hermit for the first month but started to go a bit mad and so made myself get out at the weekend and now have plans every day til Thurs. I do feel a bit tired but figure it helps me sleep and I can stay home next week.
I’ve had a few palpitations/raised heart rate too this past week. I saw my oncologist today for a routine check, he didn’t seem too concerned. My temp tends to be about 35.5-36 anyway, I think I run a little cold. The good news is he thinks the lump has started to shrink so all good motivation to keep going!
Sending you love, I had a wobble last week as my hair started it’s mass exodus but have had a mood change since the weekend. We’ve got this! xx
Interesting to see that EC is harsher. I started on paclitaxel carbonand pembro which possibly could explain slower shed, although it’s only been week 2, week 3 tomorrow of pacli
Are you doing the cold cap ? They say it helps regrowth
Hi @daffodil1. Lovely to hear from you. Been quiet last week as back at work. My cycle is every three weeks so last week I got to the point where I finished all the drugs (hurrah) but I am back in tomorrow to get my picc line fitted and bloods done to see if I can go again on Thursday. I have six cycles so I am on this roller coaster until February. My hair has started to properly go this week but so far am coping.
Glad you didn’t have to go to A&E and things are going well for you. Hope you continue on that positive note.
Fabulous plum1 that lump is starting to shrink, that’s amazing. And reassuring about the palpitations too…good luck for Thursday and good on you getting out and about!
Hi Frazzled, lovely to hear from you too.
Really hope your picc line goes well, will you let us know how you get on?
Sorry to hear about your hair, it’s so strange when it starts to go, isn’t it. I have lost most on the crown but am keeping hold of the little at front and back as still looks OK with a cap on when outside. Having bought the wig, I can’t bring myself to wear it. It just looks too false and ‘wiggy’.
Off to get bloods done soon.
Big hugs
xxx
Good to hear you finished all the drugs and well done for being back at work! Hope it went ok. Good luck with this new cycle and picc line
Sorry about the hair. I have wig appointment next Monday xoxo
Hello everyone,
Hopefully you are doing well,
Seems that we have sometimes bad days too but always sun will rise after a while.
My last 2 weeks with this bad caught not finished yet, unfortunately I still have the cough but now is part of my routine, no others simtoms, only cough,
Tomorrow I have my last session of EC infusion, so hopefully they will not push my chemo tomorrow because of my cough, so fingers crossed.
Not sure what to expect from tomorrow but hopefully if I do chemotherapy I will not develop another side effects or my cough will not become badly.
Good luck with your treatment girls, I am reading all the posts, sorry for your hair losses ladies, take care and big hug for all.
Hey All, Had a massive reaction to Paclitaxel today and felt my heart would stop, became all red😵💫. Luckily the nurses and doctors were on it immediately and stopped it and I recovered and I was able to restart treatment, at a much slower IV pace.
Am telling you ladies, we’re made of steel and flipping warriors. I keep telling myself I’ve got this, I’ve got this but that was scary, yet I still got this, we all got this. 3 week done, 1st cycle done. Big 3 infusions next week, in to cycle 2. Every day that passes I get closer to be healthier I got a life to get back to, I ain’t got time for you cancer !!!
Hi @daffodil1
Funny you should mention the wigs. I haven’t worn the one I bought either. Got some really easy soft wool scarfs on etsy and have been wearing them. They are comfy and warm and like you the wig just feels strangely false. May yet change my mind but so far it has been chemo scarves all the way.
The picc line fitting was not as bad as I thought but i it aches a bit tonight. Hopefully in a day or two I will be used to it. Just about to order some covers from the internet (they gave me a sleeve to put over it but it won’t last long). Can believe I will be wired up until Feb.
Tomorrow I will be back on the steroids so I will be wired in different way!
@plum1 great news about your lump starting to noticeably shrink. As my partner said to me today when I showed him my new bald patches. Well if its killing the hair then it should be killing the cancer.
Keep going ladies as @plum1 said, ‘We got this’.
@pinklilli3s sorry to hear about your side effects. I hope you are feeling better now and yes despite it all…you got this.
@pinklilli3s you are so strong dear, so sorry you had to experience that, hopefully next time you will be fine. Take care, big hug
I had a reaction too and even after slowing it down, it happened. The doctors changed my treatment to albimum pacletaxl, which thankfully worked fine. You seem very positive and that will help you through this. Keep it uo, you’ll get there.
Ooofff so sorry to hear that @pinklilli3s glad it went ok when they slowed the infusion down. I’ve got my third EC tomorrow before switching to Docetaxel. Nearly halfway through.
We are all strong - we’ll get through this and give less shits about lots of things the other side. I resonate with your feelings of impatience, I want to get out there and travel! Screw cancer! But it’ll all be there for us in 2024 I guess. Walking is still massively getting me through, here’s a pic of me walking from Lytham St Anne’s to Blackpool along the beach last wkend. @naughty_boob I’ll do us another playlist soon
Hi Annemanc, lovely photo, walking is brill mentally and physically. How has the EC been overall?
Donna Pinklili so sorry to hear about your reactions. The nurse told me on my first chemo that approx 50 per cent of people have an allergic reaction to paclixatel, can involve a bad and sudden back ache too. Glad you’re both on now
