Hey everyone, hope you are doing ok.
Round 3 of EC for me today with a dose reduction to try to tackle the sickness.

Definitely feeling the dread this morning but trying to be positive the dose reduction will work :pray:t2::raised_hands:t2:

I got a free wig in England. Itā€™s made of synthetic hair but pretty good for its purpose

Thatā€™s great. Mines synthetic too. The lady in the shop said theyā€™re easier to care for, and I think it doesnā€™t look too fake so I was happy enough.

All the best for today and the next few days @lizk . Hopefully youā€™ll not have any sickness with the dose reduction. Thatā€™ll be 3 done for you - fantastic! My third cycle is due to be on 14th Nov.

Hi Rose, Iā€™m glad you were able to go for a walk on your birthday :tada:. Iā€™m on the same treatment as you.

  • TC chemo. Last Thursday was my 3rd cycle and Iā€™m also finding it tougher when compared to EC. But doable somehow. I have permanent flu like symptoms - sore throat, cough, runny nose and eyes, extreme fatigue. My nurse told me not to take any paracetamol, etc so any fever is not ā€œmaskedā€ - so basically is like having the flu without being able to take any medication to ease the symptoms. These are worse from day 4 to 10. I manage to continue to work full time - I take 6 days off after each infusion. Nevertheless Iā€™m pushing for another 2 infusions (6 infusions instead of 4). Mine is a local recurrence and I want to throw everything at it. So when Iā€™m feeling rough, I just hope this is really working this time around xxx Guida

Sending positive vibes to everyone having treatment today & getting another one ticked off!
I know this question was asked a little while back with regards to 3 x weekly EC.
Iā€™m just wondering if anyone is on EC every other week & can tell me what the worst days are for them. It has been suggested by the chemo nurses I would be okay (cos of the steroids) for the first 3 days & then the major side effects would show after that once the steroids have worn off. Does this sound right?
I only have 4 x days a week childcare & need to have my pre school child one day a week so trying to work out how to schedule things when I move to EC :exploding_head:

I was on EC every other week and my worst days were day 4-7. Steroids definitely masked most of my side effects for the first 3 days, although to be honest I think my side effects were mainly from the pegfilgrastimā€¦

My mum has asked for some of my hair before i throw it away to deter the foxes from her rhubarb!
I feel like Iā€™m living in a very surreal universe

Chemo - the gift that keeps on giving . So turns out I have diabetes now . They think it could be steroids but my bloods show full blown diabetes . They have given me gliclazide to take but not really much more info than that. Does anyone else have to take them ? Regret buying all those sweets
Now :smiling_face_with_tear: they couldnā€™t say if it will go away .

I had my third cycle of six today so officially half way. I honestly feel so happy to be on the home straight of this part of my treatment and looking forward to ringing that bell :bell:

Oh no @sharlou how annoying - but I hope you are feeling ok.

It does make me wonder about the differences for those having chemo every 3 weeks vā€™s those having it every 2.

She can use her own for that! I draw the line there :crazy_face:
