Seroma

Hi all,

I had my mx almost 2 weeks ago and 8 lymph nodes removed, which proved to be negative - no further treatment needed apart from hormaone therapy, which I started a month before my mx. It filled up with fluid last week and I had it drained on Friday at the drop-in breast clinic. It was painful by the night before it was drained.

By Monday it had become even more full and I needed painkillers to get me through till the clinic on Tuesday, much more pain and discomfort than post-op. The breast care nurse suggested not going back on Friday and to hold off for a week, until next Tuesday, as she said it would shorten it all in the long run, even though she knew how much pain I’d been in just in 4 days.

How has anybody found this has been? I’ve been finding this far worse than pain post-op but feel a bit of a wimp as everything has gone spledidly, and it has also been affecting how much of the exercises I can do which I know I really need to do, having had very restricted movement for many months on my shoulder at the other sidewhen I had WLEs a few years ago.

Any tips for this?
