Hi all have been on Tamoxifen over 18 months now …no hot flushes one period no weight gain …lucky me I hear you cry …but no I have this horrendous nausea …morning sickness its vile ! does any one out there have the same …I take my med in the morning and within half hour am feeling it …any advice please will be gratefully accepted.
Ask your Doctor for Omeprazole tablets. My ONC prescribed it when I mentioned persistent nausea ( I’m also on tamoxifen) - I take one each morning and symptoms are much improved - almost non existent
I went on tamoxifen 4 months ago and take mine just before i go to bed… i do find that if i wake in the night i feel increadibly queasy.

Hi,
I took my tamoxifen at night and was fine, however one night I missed it and took it the following morning and felt so sick I had to go back to bed. I would definitely recommend trying taking it at night.

My onc recomended that i take mine at night with a glass of milk.

Not only do I suffer nausea all day long (akin to morning sickness with pregnancy, or seasickness, is the way it feels), but I also feel lightheaded and have dreadful aches and pains, especially in my hands and feet.
I have posted on another thread, but I switched from CP Pharmaceuticals (which I had been taking for a year) to Nolvadex D and, some four months later, no let up at all.
I have a six-monthly check up on Friday of this week so shall discuss this then, but I suppose I have to resign myself to the fact that I must take Tamoxifen for the next 3.5 years.
It really does affect the quality of life. It is ironic - 2 years ago when first diagnosed with BC, I felt fine. Two years down the line and with chemo, surgery (mastectomy and delayed recon), and rads under my belt, I feel s&*t.

Did you notice the sickness straight away or after?
I ask because I have been on Tamoxifen since 10th March and initially had no hot flushes at night and felt really well. Hot flushes at night started about 3 weeks ago,about the same time as I started getting intermittent ringing in my ears, but this last 2 days I have felt really sick and dizzy and not sure if its a build up of the tamoxifen or something else.

I cant remember when I started feeling sick …I was putting it down to stressing about stuff …but its within half hour of swallowing it ! I was really worried that as all the other ladies that i have mentioned this too have the sweats i was beginnig to think may be its not working properly !! by the way I have ringing ears too but put that down to playing my CD s too loud

Not had sickness but has anybody had problems with constipation and pain and soreness in the vaginal area…Can life get any better ?..

Been on them for 6 weeks now and feel sick all day every day.
Also dizzy and stomach upset at the end of my tether, I was thinking I felt sick cos the cancer may have spread.
Dont get hardly any hot flushes, really going through it at the mo. x
Have just read Abby’s comments. Yes, I’ve certainly experienced vaginal problems and constipation. Am seeing the onc on Friday so will discuss these issues (as well as worsening joint pain and nausea), but really there are only two options - ditch Tamoxifen altogether or continue with it. No middle ground.
Has anybody noticed and increase in Restless legs syndrome ,I have always suffered with this problem mostly in the evening but lately its every night and its driving me mad I wonder if this is another side affect from the tamoxifen ?..
