Dear All
I have read a bit on this board that the 3rd Chemo is the worst in repect to feeling and being sick. Is this the case with most people’s experience? I have my 3rd FEC on 3rd August, and I am severely vomit phobic, I am very scared of it, but fortunately I have avoided any bad nausea with my first 2 FECs because of the anti emetics. Should I ask for extra treatment for my 3rd? My oncologist is aware of my phobia and has been very understanding
Any advice welcome!
Thanks

Hi Cecelia,
I wonder if you should maybe post this on the ‘undergoing treatment’ page as you’ll prob get a better response?
Anyway, re: feeling rough on chemo No3. I am on E-CMF and felt absolutely dreadful on Epi No3 its fair to say! However, I certainly didn’t feel any worse with regard to sickness or nausea. I just felt a lot more fatigued than on previous ones. My get up and go had most definately got up and gone!!! Thankfully, so far so good, I have never been sick on chemo, just nauseous. This nausea was certainly no worse for me on No3 so I hope that will be the same for you.
Hopefully any additional anti-sickness meds won’t be needed! Have you tried travel bands at all? They’re awesome, particularly when you get sick of pill-popping! So, please don’t be too anxious about No3. I know we are all different but I really didn’t have any additional sickness issues with No3, just tiredness and terrible ‘chemo brain’.
I wish you well,
Take care,
Kelly

I put this post on the wrong category, but am heartened that you only (!!) had more nausea and not actual sick. As I say I have a serious phobia, i haven’t thrown up since i was 7 years old and I’m 47 now! I have seen your previous posts regarding bands and will most definitely be getting some before my next treatment, anticipatory nausea is one of my downfalls too!
Thanks

I have not had any more severe reactions (except increasing fatigue) with my FEC treatments and I have just had my 4th.
Hope that helps
