Hi.
I’ve been taking letrozole since May this year.
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve started having very dry mouth.
Having water or other drinks during day seems to not make much difference.
Is this a normal side effect of letrozole?

Hi Nijan,
Thanks for posting. We hear from many people who experience side effects after they start taking letrozole. A dry mouth is a less common side effect but can be very uncomfortable as you are experiencing. We would always suggest you speak to your treatment team or GP about the symptoms you are having as they may be able to suggests ways to help manage your dry mouth. You also might find this information which includes tips on easing a dry mouth useful.
Letrozole is made by a number of different manufacturers, and some tablets may have additional ingredients such as preservatives. Whilst the effectiveness of the treatment stays the same, we know that people can have different side effects depending on which brand they are taking.
It can be helpful to keep a note of the side effects you are experiencing together with the name of the manufacturer of the tablets you are currently taking. You can then discuss this with your pharmacist or GP to see if they can supply you with letrozole from a different manufacturer.
