I had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2021. After a lumpectomy and radiation, I have noticed my hair is now curly…in ringlets! I had thick, straight hair and ‘movement’ per hair dressers. Since my hair is long, I can really see it, even when wet. My MD stated it was from menopause but I’ve been in menopause for 22 years, and I’d have noticed if my hair became curly. I have searched the internet, trying to see if anyone else has experienced this. Truly I’m happy with it, but is it from the Arimidex/Anastrazole? Radiation? Menopause? Since it has been 3 years, hair would have grown 18 inches in 3 years. ANYONE experienced this? Would you share please?
Yep. I always had a lot of waves in my hair but after chemo my hair came back in ringlets. Thought it would be temporary but nope. I just have curly hair now. Not super curly but it does look like I use a curling iron. I like it, too, actually although it’s taken a while in figuring it out. Some days are still definitely better than others but with my grey I think it looks pretty and unique and I think most people agree.

My daughters all have wavy/curly hair and have helped me learn to care for it. Quite an expensive routine what with leave in conditioner, mousse and curl activator. I have heard of chemo curls, but since I didn’t have chemo, I wonder where they have come from? (NOT complaining, as they are beautiful…even at 71!)
