Taking my first dose of capecitabine this evening. Im scared about getting bad side effects as there are so many although ive been told I will probably only have a few of the common ones. Has anyone else had this drug and if so what side effects did you get? And what did you do to alleviate them. Back in 2001 when i had my first breast cancer i had the chemo drug FEC and breezed through it (apart from being a bit zombified). So im hoping i will not be too bad this time as well.
Hi, I have just finished cycle 3 of 6 and have had very few side effects, mostly just fatigue! I have managed to carry on as normal and able to work etc, so much kinder than IV chemo, good luck 
most people tolerate it really well xx

Thank you for replying to me. Thats made me feel a lot better - i can handle fatigue as im retired so can nap when able. Fingers crossed im as ‘lucky’ as you 
. I am on 8 cycles which will take me to end of September. I will keep the forum updated.

I have been on Capecitabine for 8 months and finding it a great deal easier than I/V.
My main issue is fatigue and some skin itchiness but nothing I can’t cope with. The main thing is it’s keeping things stable at the moment. Really hope it works well for you.x
