I’ve read this before, too. I must say it gives me great comfort when I’m hot flushing for England.
Interesting as I had discussion with onc last week as I was contemplating stopping Tamoxifen after 3
years due to the side effects. She says I cant change to aromatose inhibitor as im pre menopausal(im 51, 48 at dx)
My only option was to stop taking it and take my chances, her words not mine!!
Decided to persevere, think its the right decision after all.

Yes, it’s interesting, isn’t?
Thought I’d give it a quick bump as the boards seem busy this afternoon and some may have missed it earlier in the week.

suddenly i dont seem to hate my aching bones and night sweats now…very reassuring! Thanks for posting that, made my day!
lets hope my power surges are a good thing then!
Well if my aching joints and dozen or so sweats per night are anything to go by it looks like my treatment is working very well…its funny but when you are in such pain with your joints it is easy to assume that something is wrong rather than right isn’t it? This certainly makes me feel better as since I have been taking Tamoxifen some days I can barely walk and am having accupuncture to try to stop the night sweats.
Yes, it definitely encourages you to persevere, doesn’t it.
There’s a good review of this (mainly British) research, on the Americal equivalent of this site (the link is on the home page) at the moment:

I know someone who had bc 8 years ago I asked her how she coped with tamoxifen side effects, she said that she didnt have any only a few flushes at the very begining. Some people sail through chemo with very few side effects but that does not mean that it isnt working. This could be the same for tamoxifen .By the way she had grade3 3.2cm and is NED.
