Hello
I’ve read a lot of these threads.
It appears the majority of ladies have fatigue after radiotherapy, with few ladies who had a tanned breast and no other experience to report.
I’ve read leaflets that this lovely charity produce and I noticed that it referenced that radiotherapy could reduce the size of the breast.
When you start off with one breast smaller than the other (not that you’d notice once I’m wearing underwear and it has been like that for some significant time) I’m wondering if a change of size is a common side effect.
Also, and I know we have individual plans, but when did you start radiotherapy?
I guess I’m impatient to get to the end.
Thanks and best wishes.
Hi, itsjustnotmyyear
I finished chemo september last year, and started radiotherapy in the october. It was roughly about 5 weeks from chemo to radio. Prior to that i had 2 surgeries, one in feb, and one in march. Chemo started in the may. How many sessions you have can vary. I needed 15, but others i had met on this journey had 5. It all depends on your stage etc. I would say my bc boob is a bit smaller now since radiotherapy, but it ended up being smaller from the two surgeries i had aswell. Good luck with the treatment, make sure you moisturise your boob as it does help with the side affects of radiotherapy on your skin. I used aveeno. Take care x
My boob is a bit firmer and fuller which I had put down to radiotherapy but at my recent sign off from the surgeon she said I had some fluid so it may be that and nothing to do with radio at all. I had 5 days three months after surgery. x
