Skincare advice

Any tips for good facial moisturiser for chemo. I don’t wear makeup but would like to keep on top of the dry skin etc! Looking for the mild unscented kind as if I wear scented moisturiser to bed it always makes me sneeze (yes am weird!!)

I got a tube of moogoo udder cream in my Little Lifts box and thought I’d try it try on my face and it’s been brilliant. I used through 8 cycles of chemo and it’s been really good.

Hi @Kara  I’m not sure if your budget, I used the La Roche range specifically aimed at cancer patients. It could all be a marketing hype but I liked that it had less ingredients than most other brands. Hope you find a product that suits you

Aveeno also really good

Generally simple cleanse tone and moisturize with nivea face cream to suit yur skin is all you need during Chemo. As the chemo affects your inside, a normal cleansing regime will suffice. As for any udder cream, it is ideal for use outdoors, but has the tendency to clogg pores. i work with horses and its great when working outside.

When i went through chemotherapy I was more concerned with using the correct conditioner on my hair as i had cold-cap. And found drinking plenty of water is the ey to hydrating yourself. Even using cold water as a toner. Scented moisturizer is so over-rated especially if you have allergies, and believe me I know about them - I have Type 4, so have to be extra vigilant. If you are having Cold Cap i found taking 1 paracetamol helped any pending headache fromm the cold the sound and restriction of the cap. Good luck ladies you will get through this, we all do, i’m 3 years down the line. Love and light Moonsox,xx.
