Hello,
I Am struggling to sleep during the day not even a nap because of headache ans facial tightness on the bridge of my nose and barely sleep 4 hours at night and I heard someone saying that using antihistamine help so I use Benadryl but then I read a study saying that it’s have high risk of dementia so I stopped it.
I was going to ask for sleeping pills but I am scared of being addicted to it ?
Any advice plz
Morning @hasnae87.
The gp prescribed me promethazine - 10mg & another team 25mg. I have taken when required & they have helped me, I haven’t felt any addiction & at times really needed these.
Do you sleep through the night?
X
I do sleep through the night shortly but like yesterday, I slept at 11 woke up at 2, then at 3 then at 4 then my brain was wondering while my eyes closed as I refuse to touch my phone until 5 and then decided to give up.
Like I am sleeping but not ans them will be awake for all day with no single nap until 11pm again
My GP has prescribed melatonin tablets, as I was only getting 5-6 hours sleep, and I wasn’t coping. I’m now, more regularly getting 6-6 ½ per night. I still wake.at least one in the night, and I’m awake between 4.30 & 5.30 every day, but just the small extra amount of sleep is making me feel more human
Hey, sorry to hear that you have trouble sleeping. My GP had prescribed a friend of mine magnesium tablets, it helps to relax your muscles and wind you down before bed. Please do consult with your GP, however to endure it is safe for you to take it.
Sorry to hear you are struggling with sleep. I’ve been struggling too since my diagnosis & I really don’t like taking sleeping pills so I’ve been using a hypnosis app called Relax & Sleep Well by Glen Harold. It’s full of 20-30 minute tracks that you listen to at bedtime with earphones on & it’s really helped me. Some of the tracks are free, but I paid £2.99 for the deep sleep track & it’s definitely helped. It’s not for everyone but might be worth a try xx
I can absolutely recommend Glen Harold. I’m out like a light - also got a sleep headband with speakers - musicozy - off Amazon.
