Hi,
I havent a clue what is normal with stage iv cancer.
For the last three days I’ve been frozen, sleepy and had some pain.
The area where the pain is was treated with Rads and steriods about 4 weeks ago.
I’m so cold my hands and feet are blue, my brain is fuzzy as well.
Worst bit is I can hardly stay awake. I got up today at 9 - showered and went round the park with hubby and the dog. I used my scooter. Came home and had tea and toast.
Back to bed - I never woke up til about 4pm. I need my bed again - the walls and floor are moving.
This happens if I get over tired - like partying all night then going to work from the party.
Is this the sort of thing I can expect - or should I see the doc.
I’m sorry to read you are having a tough time at the moment. I’m sure some of the other users will be a long soon to offer you their support. In the meantime please do give the helpline a call and talk things through with one of the trained members of staff. Here you can share your feelings and concerns with someone who will offer you emotional support as well as practical information.
The number to call is 0808 800 6000 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10 to 2pm.
Hi Glo, I would have a chat with someone about it. I do not for one minute that anything serious is wrong but if you are concerned about your symptoms, enough to write here about it, I think you should have a chat. Maybe you have an infection. But I do not know what meds you are on or where you are at right now so cannot offer any advice. As I say, have a word with someone you trust like your GP or BCN or who-ever. Hugs Val
HI there - hope you feel a bit better today - my OH is an Onc and she would say always ring the team looking after you if you aren’t sure - or your GP - better if it is something like an infection to knock it on the head soon - but maybe its normal for how you r at at the mo and if so its reassuring to hear that from someone -
all the best
N
Glo - I would seek medical advice. You don’t say where you had the rads, but it doesn’t sound like the cold feeling would be related to this. Probably should expect to be sleepy and maybe normal to have the pain, but probably not as much as you are. Try the helpline if difficult to get hold of GP or SBCN.
I can relate to the feeling of being cold. I am permamnently cold (I was wearing 4 layers at the weekend!)-as I have difficulty generating and maintaining heat. There have been very few weeks this year when I have not needed the heating on. I think this is not too unusual because of the the disease and the treatment.

Thanks to everyone.
I’m much better now - stil a bit cold but no longer blue.
I dont like to bother the doctor or the nurse. so just neededto know if it could be normal.
I see my unc in 2 weeks so will reort pain to her - doctor is aware of it but cant up my meds.
They ar esafing the big guns for later , if/when the cancer moves out of my bones
