I have a question. I had a right side mastectomy last Wednesday and all went well. However, I have a PICO fitted and wondered if anyone else had noticed a slushy noise (like a hot water bottle) when moving and lifting arm up! I sound like I’m at sea! Does anyone know if this is normal ? X

I had a pico dressing fitted it for my mastectomy back in August last year, it sometimes makes a whirring noise when you move particularly when you lean forward I was told this is because of movement and the vacuum seal,as far as I was told the battery alarms if the seal is broken, otherwise mine didn’t make any other noises lol!
I know that these dressings aren’t used all the time certainly not where I was treated anyway as they are very expensive apparently !! So any checks have to made by the breast care nurse team, I would suggest you ring your breast care nurse on Monday if you are concerned or if it comes loose
