Small red spots

Hey

I finished radiotherapy in April and have been taking tamoxifen since mid-April. Over the past few days, I’ve noticed some very small red spots on my skin that look like petechiae. They’re not itchy or painful and they don’t blanch, but they’re new for me.

They’ve appeared on my inner arms, breasts, and thighs. I’m not sure if this could be a side effect of tamoxifen, something related to the radiotherapy, or something else entirely.

Could you advise on what might be causing this, and whether I should get it checked out.

Thanks  xx

Tamoxifen can cause skin reactions and rashes but it would be a good idea to get this checked out just be sure. You can speak to your treatment team or GP. While you wait for any appointment you are able to make with them, you can ask a local pharmacist who might be able to help.
