so worried

hi, im really worried about a lump i have in my right breast i have a family history of breast cancer and cervical cancer, the lump is about the size of a large pea and is hard and my nipple is also leaking a blood stainned discharge. i have been to the doctor alough i did leave it 10 weeks before i went as i was so scared of what she was going to say to me, they have reffered me onto the breast clinic and my appoitment is today i am just so scared as i have a 19month old little boy and a 7week old baby girl. i have only just this morning told my boyfriend about the lump and discharge coming from my breast and i dont think he understands he just says dont worry about it your only 22 the chances of it being cancer are slim. its a lot easier to say dont worry when its not you who has to go through it all. my mum got breast cancer at 23 so that is so close to my age which is why im so worried, any advice would be greatly apprechated. xx

Hi, nothing I or anyone can say will stop the worry.
Yes your man may well be right but 1% chance means didly sqit if your the poor sod who has it.
Glad your going to the breast clinic because if it is the dreaded c then they can start doing something about it.
Also remember that since your mums day treatments have improved lots with much better outcomes.
Should the worse happen (and I have everything crossed that you get the all clear) There are quite a few younger ladies on here with small children who along with everyone on her will give you lots of advice and above all suport. All will understand how you feel.

All the very best and everything crossed that you don’t join this club.

good luck for monday we’ll all be thinking about you. Joyce

Did they say it was definatly cancer…? Most people on here below 40 seem to have been given chemo as standard treatment. I hope it all goes well on Monday…
