Some nice things to help us through.

I am just about to have my 2nd chemo course on Weds( 3 FEC 3 TAX)( then 15 rads.) I have been reading all your comments and they have really helped me to stay bright. However due to techno probs I was unable to register to join the discussions. I lost my hair quite quickly but went to BHS and bought some hats that were in the sale.(£3 each) Got 5 then managed to buy stretchy headbands in matching or co-ordinating colours which I wear under the hats. They help to keep the hats in place and disguise the hairless bits. Very nice indeed. I have also had some semi permanent makeup done. I had my eyebrows etched in, a fantastic almost painfree procedure that has given me eyebrows I always wanted even before chemo may cause them to fall. Years of having them waxed has made them thin out. Not cheap but the effect will last for several years. Anyone struggling to find a vien for treatment my nurse placed my arm in warm water for a few minutes-hey presto jobs a gud un. Worth a try. Also dranh heaps of water before during and after and really think it helped with not feeling sick. For days after chemo and for those who like a bath (well wine is off the menu for a couple of days) try bath bombs from LUSH. Pure bliss. Get OH to run the bath and just enjoy the relax. Hope this reads ok trying to type like you would hold a conversation but my mouth goes quicker than my fingers. !!
Looking forward to sharing positive pointers and here for anyone who needs support.

Hi Dilys
Thanks so much for droping in and taking time to drop a line. As I said I have been reading the threads for some time now and have often come across your name. Think you are a little ahead of me with your treatment. But think you are very +ve too.

I didn’t need chemo or rads, just tamoxifen, i go to Macc general, theyve been great there, but have passed by the Christie, its an awesome looking place but glad i don’t need to go there!

My onc is from there though, had to sign forms that had to go to the Chrisite, Macc is affiliated to them
