Something to share with you all

I have just received a card from a friend, which included a quote that brought a tear to my eye, so I thought I would share it with you as it seems quite apt to each and everyone of us on this site as we all help one another out so much. I hope you like it.
“Friends are like angels who lift us to our feet, when our wings have trouble
remembering how to fly”

Hi Jillian

Thanks for sharing that - it is lovely.

I have had a couple of cards with similar quotes - they sure make a change from the ‘hope you’re feeling better now’ and the ‘bet you’re glad it’s over now’ one’s that some of my more insensitive friends have sent.

Take care and hope you have a good xmas

Thank you Jill,
I was going to copy that down but I’ve already memorised it. Even with my chemo brain. Whatever my friends say, I am always glad they have tried to say something. But from time to time someone says or does the most amazing thing. It doesn’t always come from the people you thought were your closest friends. It can be so uplifting and inspiring. The only thing that has really upset me is (what I thought was) a close friend chosing to say nothing.

Hi all
Lorna - you are not alone - I’ve had several old friends who have said not very much and offered no support. I know they probably find it all too hard to deal with - but not as hard as I’m finding it!!!
On the subject of cards I wanted to share the text from a card my best friend sent from Canada. She sent it knowing I’d howl with laughter.
On the back it says it is the Journeys range ‘encouraging words along life’s way’.
The words on the front are : 'No-one said it would be easy to lose your hair. But knowing you, you’ll find a way to turn this situation around and use it as a badge of honour, a sign to the world that your treatments are working.
(this bit’s printed inside) And when this is all behind you and your hair grows back, you’ll be able to say with assurance that every day is a good hair day.
So come on girls wear that badge of honour with pride…!!!
Hope it made you laugh as much as it did me!
