Hi everyone
I’m on my second cycle of Palbociclib and have developed a slightly sore mouth. My chemo nurse recommended a salt water mouth wash and I have also been given Difflam I think it’s called. Anyway I thought I’d do the salt water one. I’ve just done it but really had no idea what to do. How much salt to water? How long to swill it for? Do I rinse my mouth afterwards or leave the residue in my mouth? Anyone else had this?
Thanks
Jac
Hi Jac,
I’m on Palbociclib and luckily don’t have a sore mouth, but ido eat a few pieces of liquorice each day as during my original BC chemo I was told that helps stop a sore mouth and mouth ulcers……and as I like liquorice I tried it and didn’t get any problems so when I got my SBC diagnosis and started on Palbociclib I started on liquorice and 5 months in I haven’t had any problems. Maybe worth a try if you like liquorice!
hope someone can help with the details for saltwater mouthwash
Spikey
