Hi, just wondering if anyone epxerienced a sore throat on tamoxifen? I started it 5 months ago and for the last month I have had a consistent sore throat, it doesn’t feel viral as I had no cold or flu symptoms and the doctor didn’t think it was either. Just wondering if this is a side effect or just something random! Thanks.

Can i suggest you contact your cancer team nurse, im sure she will be able to help/advise on whether its meds related or not. In the meantime, im guessing youve tried a warm honey and lemon drink followed by paracetamol to help ease the soreness. Maybe a salt water mouth gargle, good antiseptic (old wives solution) but it may help too.
The meds im on do cause hoarseness, sore throat, i do the above, its helped me immensely.
