Hi
I had a Wire guided WLE and SNB last Tuesday and was feeling quite good last week. This week is a different story as all the bruising is now comming out and my underarm at the top (i assume where they take the Lymp nodes from) is so sore I cannot bear to touch it. has anyone else had this if so any tips on how to make to more comfortable. Marion
It’s 5 weeks post op for me and had WLE and SNB,just with the blue dye tho, and I can swing my arm about like a good un now . However,as the numbness wore off after the first week I had a sore arm too, mainly upper arm ,all sort of tingly or needle like pain and just plain sore and weird feeling, was told that this is due to when they get your nodes out they have to move the nerves that run down the length of your arm and post op they are settling back down.
I made sure that I was forever doing my exercises and just generally swinging my arm and stretching it and waving etc as much as poss. When watching tv I also made sure to massage it ,for a while I felt a tightness running down to my elbow but made sure to gently stretch this and have no problems at all with it now. All I can advise is to keep moving it slowly and gently and you will get there. Good luck.
