Dear forum members
We have noticed over the last few months that many of you have concerns
and worries around helping your children cope with having a parent with
breast cancer and are finding it difficult to get support and
information. So we have organised a special live chat session just for
those of you with a diagnosis of secondary breast cancer who want to
talk about this issue.
The session will run from 8pm to 9pm on 25th June. It will be
facilitated by two of our specialist nurses from Breast Cancer Care.
Please note that this session is only open to those of you with a
diagnosis of secondary breast cancer and who have children.
We hope you can join us.

Would there be the possibility of having a live chat in the future on this subject for those of us with primary? I have 5, 7 & 9 year old and am having a difficult time with them right now.
Many thanks
What a great idea. Unfortunately I’ll be on holiday, but I’m sure many others will want to take part.
Thanks
Jacquie
I’ll be there!!! Thank you soooooooooo much

To eal69eal,
Have you got a copy of BCC’s book ‘Mummy’s Lump’? It’s free to order from the website and we have found it fab with our children. Mind you, mine are 4 and 2, so I don’t know if it’s much use for your older children, but perhaps worth a go?

I will do my best to be there

Thanks Kinden surpise, I have got the book and it was very useful. I have now given it to the school nurse who is helping them at school.
Many thanks
I don’t have secondary breast cancer, but could I say that I’ve just read mummy’s lump which has a happy ending in which the mummy has had her operation, chemo etc and is only going back to have checkups to make sure her lump doesn’t come back. so what about the possibility of secondary breast cancer?
I know it’s for young children but it was a bit partial in what it says

Cos I’m at the hospice, I can use the computer in the day but can’t use it outside of office hours. Is there any possibility that you could send me a transcript or a summary of what was said, if that is OK with the participants as i would love to join in but forces are stacked against me.
