Spine lesion awaiting MRI results

Hi everyone. I was diagnosed in Nov. with grade 2 hormone positive BC. I was put on Letrozole and zoladex as the surgery wouldn’t be until February. In December, a couple of weeks after I started the hormone treatment I started experiencing pain in my back, hips, side, neck. My doctor sent me for a CT scan which was clear.
Fast forward I had my total right mastectomy on the 18th last week. I was sent for a ct scan after developing a terrible cough. Turns out I have pneumonia but they also saw a lesion on my spine. The report said it looked benign but I just had an MRI today for further investigation. I am beyond nervous. I convinced myself back in December that it was in my bones. Could they have missed something? I haven’t had any pain at all since the December episode. Just so sick with worry.

hi saints33,
Welcome to the club that noone whats tobe in. Letrozole is known to cause bone and muscle pain unfortuntately. Its good that you are having various scans. Its an anxious wait not knowing the unknown, i know that feeling all to well, but please be assured you are in the best place/hands possible.
I would say try and keep yourself busy, but only recently having had a mastectomy, rest is the best course of action at the moment.
I want to send positive vjbes your way, there are some lovely ladies on here im sure will pop on soon.
If you can let us know how you get on

You have missed nothing  Scans unfortunately catch all kinds of benign stuff but after a breast cancer diagnosis they must investigate regardless. They don’t think it looks like anything, they’re the experts, so they are probably correct. I can’t say don’t worry because we all do, but I can say try to remind yourself that this is most likely nothing when you do.

Hi saints33
Welcome to the club we all want to leave before we’ve joined!
I’m so sorry you’re experiencing lots of pain
The letrozole is definitely the cause of the joint and muscle pain. I’ve been on it 2 years this August.
You’re going to be on tenterhooks the waiting for appointments and results drive you mad.
It’s great that they’ve said the area is benign and it’s also great that they are checking with an mri scan
I know it’s horrible but as was mentioned try and keep busy as much as you can. Walking really helps with the joint pain. It’s sitting that stiffens you up. You’re only just recovering from surgery and obviously with the pneumonia on top you must feel exhausted
Be kind to yourself and rest up
Keep us posted on your recovery and results
Take care Lynn x

An update for anyone who will ever need reassurance in the future: after a gruelling wait I was old that it’s a benign tumour. Now onto to the next… telling the kids (my biggest fear) chemo and then radiation.
Thank you all for your reassurance
