Hi all
I just wondered whether anyone has found a good sports bra which is suitable for an implant reconstruction and is good at controlling bounce when running! (Cup size C).
Any recommendations appreciated.
Thanks
Jenny

Hi emmeline1
I can’t comment on reconstruction as did not have this, but I am a runner too and was keen to get back to it as soon as possible after my lumpectomy and was conscious of not wanting to bounce about too much! I am also a C cup and find the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run bra to be the best for keeping things in place and limiting bounce. Chest and shoulder straps are all adjustable for a snug fit, but there is a clip you have to fasten behind your back so may not be suitable if you are having any difficulties with range of arm movement. Sports Direct have them for less than twenty quid. Don’t get the white one, though, it’s awful!

I also love the Nike Dri Fit High Impact zip front one but it is a bit pricier, think mine was about ÂŁ50.
Best wishes and happy running! x
Hi southwest123
Thank you very much for the recommendations, much appreciated Yep, I can’t wait to get back running again! I will look into both and run them past my surgeon too.
Many thanks
Jenny
Hello @emmeline1
I too am a runner: I was fortunate in that my surgery was a lumpectomy, however I am an F cup so experience a lot of bounce
Since returning to running I’ve found the Sweaty Betty zero gravity bras really supportive. Again they are a bit on the pricey side but they often have sales. I like the way they fit and they are true to size. I also have a couple of their high impact ultra running bras which do a good job, however I’d advise going up a band size in those ones

Hi adoptedmanc,
Thanks very much for the recommendation, I will look into these bras too I don’t mind spending a bit on them!
I bought a couple of sports bras from Decathlon. I don’t recall the exact name, but it was the Decathlon own brand. I was just looking on their website and noticed they offer a post-surgery bra which might offer even more support.
So, listen up, friend. Finding a sports bra that’s perfect for those with implant reconstruction can be a bit of a challenge, but fear not because there are some great options out there! For those rocking’ a C cup size post-op, you’ll want to look for a bra that offers ample support without any uncomfortable wires or seams digging into your skin. Brands like Karlee Smith and Anita offer sports bras specifically designed for post-surgery needs, featuring soft materials, adjustable straps, and breathable fabric to keep you feeling comfortable during your workouts. Remember to take proper measurements before making a purchase to ensure the best fit possible. Trust me, once you find the right sports bra for you, it’ll make all the difference in your active lifestyle. You got this!

I don’t have a reconstruction but am saddled with HH cups. I found the best answer was to wear 2 sports bras. One with good coverage / encapsulation underneath, then one with good compression on top. For me that meant a ShockAbsorber D+ underneath, and a ShockAbsorber Multi Active on top.
