Spots!

Hi all

Had my first EC last Thursday and yesterday I noticed I had a rash under my boobs with a few spots scattered over my stomach. I was at hospital for line care yesterday so the nurse looked at it…she said she wasn’t sure what it was but it might be a heat rash. She said to call if it spreads.

It hasn’t spread as such but I’ve noticed some of the spots on my shoulders and upper back. Also got a couple around my mouth. I’m not unduly worried as the nurse has seen it as she didn’t seem to think it was a problem. I was just wondering if skin outbreaks are common with chemo? I’m not usually prone to spots so just wondering if continuing with moisturiser etc will be ok.

I had quite a few spots on my face and neck and shoulders after my first EC - I actually posted in here at the time about it. It was like teenage acne but it went away after a couple of weeks and I didnt have it again. It also seemed to cause a swollen lympg node in my neck which freaked me out at the time but it wasn’t there for long.

Wishing you the best for your chemo.

Ah thank you Bookie, I thought it must be quite normal to have some kind of break out given the amount of stuff being pumped into our bodies!

Hope you are doing well :hugs:

I’ve not had skin so bad since my teens. My skin was atrocious back then but in the last couple of decades really cleared up. However it broke out like mad the week of my diagnosis (without treatment) and again since my first treatment at the end of August. All over my upper arms and chest and a little on my back. I don’t know if it’s the stress or the treatment. My skin is very dry and flaky too which is not normal for me (usually easily greasy).

Oh it really is the gift that keeps on giving isn’t it. I guess it could be a combination of stress and treatment then. Thanks for the input - best of luck with your recovery :hugs:
