Stage 1 ER PR pos

Hi all

I’m 51 and newly diagnosed and it’s been a whirlwind. I did have a painful lump in February but was dismissed and told it was normal breast tissue. Roll forward 13 weeks and a routine mammogram showed a lump. Following a repeat mammogram and USS a biopsy confirmed Stage 1 on 7/6/23 followed by a lumpectomy and sentinel node removal on 21/6/23. Currently still trying to get my head round it all to be honest. Being thrown back into menopause is an added thing to comprehend.

Plan is for radiotherapy in around 5-6 weeks. Scars are healing well but I have these odd goosebump/shiver sensations on the operated side all day and night 2 weeks post op!

anyway, that’s me. I’m so glad to have found this forum and ‘someone like me’.

Hi @SharonP  and welcome to the forum.

I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis and the whirlwind you’ve experienced so far. We hope you find the forum a helpful, informative and supportive place.

Please know that we are here to support you and you may find it helpful to speak to one of our breast cancer nurses. It can help to have someone to talk to about all this and who can offer that additional support. You can contact them on 0808 800 6000 but the helpline is closed over this bank holiday and will be open again on Tuesday from 9am.

All the best,

Lucy
