“Tonight Supertrouper’s smile is going to blind me, shining like the sun, smiling haivng fun, feeling like she’s No 1” Woohoo, worth a trip back to the woods to celebrate!
Don’t faint ladies, I finally booked that all important first hair cut after chemo today… only a year after I finished! Well scary… next week my crazy curls will be cut off in favour of a real style. So I’ll leave the curls here for anyone who can use them. In an odd way I’ll miss them!
Drinks are on me tonight everyone!! Reason for celebrating is that I got the news that the nice surgeon cut out all the nasty gremlins. Seroma swamp draining is booked for tomorrow and pink champagne tastes lovely!!
I saw it as a message from the angels last night when I saw that Mama Mia was on tv. I listened to Abba when ever I was offered music during the early days of many scans at Stalag Luft III. Hence my name of Supertrouper. I just want to dance around like a daft thing and yes my smile would blind you so bring your sunglasses with you to the JM bar tonight. WHOOP WHOOP!!
Evening Woodies
Super Supertrouper. You are the Dancing Queen tonight. Seroma swamps are a minor irritation just like the tickle at the end of the nose during Radiotherapy. I wish we were nearby and a meal to celebrate would be held…still not long now and NED. Yippee. Two pairs of sunglasses needed one for your smile and you will recognise my glow in the dark chest!! Bit like dear ET. Your husband must be so relieved as well. Are you having radiotherapy soon?
I think I will join you in a toast. Raise your glasses girls To our bouncing friend Supertrouper.
I struggled into the land of Normal people today after DXT so I now know I am shattered!!! A 5 hour round trip to London after radiotherapy and a run to catch the train home has meant bed is in my horizon now. The girls at work are all so super, I miss them - but a few more weeks yet I think before I could manage without being too fatigued. At least I know I can still run without falling down.
Dear RevCat HAIRCUT… Pass on the locks. My owltuft Cruela Deville is beyond a joke. The Badgers pelt with blonde ends is sorely missed. As I told Supertrouper anybody that removes one white thread from my pate is dead meat!
Sleep well all

We’ll need a new photo Rev Cat to admire the new hair do.
I’ve been getting mine very lightly snipped as I go. In the dark days when it seemed as if it was never going to grow back, I said that I would never complain about having a ‘bad hair day’ again. So far so good!
Evening Woodies
DJ007 and RevCat even your snippings would be welcome. I’m sure we have some superglue somewhere. Patience is not one of my virtues I WANT MY HAIR BACK.
The Rads go on and my chest glows like ET. I am plastered with cream rather than drink…so the greasy red light coming from the Rads Rushes is me half way along the path to normality. “Soddit heal”. Good dog.
Sudden thought…
We could post pictures of hairy Woodies in the JM.( Might be good for darts practice when bored and jealous!!!) What a rotten thing to say…no, do post latest styling triumphs to encourage the owl tufted!!
Dear Cackles, of course you shall have my snippings - next Wednesday the man has vowed to remove all my chemo curls and give me a “style”. The photo for the dart board might take a little longer. Hope the ET look settles with the plastering, I mean slavering, of creams and potions. I was Robyn for several weeks but now that’s all long gone.
2ND night in Rads Rushes and like you Cackles,am slathered in cream,I was so diligent managed to lose the plaster and the special neck mark in the shower, was so scared of being told off I drew another one on my neck in felt tip.Needless to say I was chastised by Radiographer,I had to have another x ray to locate nodes in my neck, new mark on and suitably plastered, pre extra neck zap,was told off in a nice "you are a silly cow"way.Hair still a fine dusting of icing sugar, really envious of you Revcat having a haircut.Supertrouper, you sound so upbeat, please may I join you your Pizza fest?
Cackles did your first Rads zapping make you tired?feel like I could lie in a hammock for ever.
Love and Light xxMavis
Hi Woodies have been sleeping my way through this trial as much as possible but have decided to go the JM tonight for a well earned sangria. (IT always makes me smile) and I need to keep one on my face for now.Hair is coming back I have a Tin Tin flick at the front, back is a shaggy sheepdog not long enough to cut yet but it will be soon.Chris x

Popped back from the land of NED to say high…The coffee’s on… and the hair is curling (tufty would be another word), but, with a bit of mousse on it, it looks OK (thin but OK)…At least it’s finally good enough for me to ditch the “hairy hat” (wig)
keep going Woodies - encouraging waves are coming from the edges… Soddit, get DOWN!
Nice to see people popping back to the woods for a visit. I am spending most of my time wandering backwards and forwards between my tent and the Seroma swamps. Tonight I start taking the tablets that I will be on for the next 5 years! A year ago I didn’t like taking any tablets and now I feel like I should rattle.
Buggerit is pleased to be getting all the extra walks and is doing a good job of rounding up greater crested neuts which he is now depositing in the lagoon - empty jam jars and fishing nets can be found in the supply tent behind the JM bar so if you are needing a boost before your next chemo then get fishing!!
Plenty of empty tents here if anyone wants to move in whilst they are going through treatments.
Thanks Supertrouper … I’m off fishing for a week on Monday! It’ll be a close call again me thinks!
Don’t think Jean’s been on for a while - I’m missing her too. Hope all is ok for her.
Sleeps fairies still not delivering to me … Going to crack open the drugs the GP gave me … Soft drinks for me tonight - the panda eyes is not a good look!!
Annie - try sleeping in one of the nests up the old yew tree near the lagoon - sleep fairies like it up there and the nests are lined with super soft eyelashes to make it super comfortable.
Mind if I join you ladies? I stumbled down the DX cliff on December 21st and am aimlessly wandering in the limbo land just outside the dark, dark wood before surgery on 17th January.
Evening Woodies …
Ratina welcome. Sorry you have had to join us but as you can see we are all at various parts of the track towards the path to normality. You have made that big plung and stepped into the unknown, but we will be with you at every step to guide you and support you. Find a tent by the Lagoon and we will get a drink ready for you in the JM. Positivethinking and Bringitonare on their way to help you. One on each shoulder usually gets rid of the gremlins that you may see.
Jane GH you too need to leave your hair photos on the wall of the JM for dart practice. We green Owl fluffed wood dwellers need something to encourage us.
How does Emu oil mix with Owl fluff Supertrouper? 1 cm in seven days…it’s not fair…sulk sulk…
Mavis I am Just off to get friend Aqueous to sooth the ET glow.
Anybody tracked down Jane? I so hope all is ok…
Anne - Panda Eyes are the look these days , especially in Edinburgh. I wonder if Pandas would live in the dark dark woods. They would have plenty of hair for transplants, and nest lining.
Be of good faith
