alls well in the wood and thanks for sending good wishes.
Although bloods border line (1.4 - they like it been 1.5) but thankfully the onc decided to go ahead, may have had something to do with BringItOn being in the room. Steroids did their usual itchy bits and woozy head thing. Chemo did the sore vein thing, so all normal.
Interesting how this is now normal.
Peachez - Glad you are being seen tomorrow and sound a bit calmer.
Tracey - My 6yr old has returned from his dad’s with a hacking cough. Think ‘hacking’ is a medical term or it could just have come from my mother! Good luck with your human kleenex moments, oh the joys of motherhood, they said nothing about this at antenatal classes!!
Good luck tomorrow Donna, am passing BringItOn over to you. xx
After 3 hours sleep last night cold getting better and no high temp - think I’ve become paranoid about being immuno-suppressed!Funny thing- it never curbed my appetite.
Hair coming out in handfulls and getting into everything else! Wish I’d listened to hairdresser but he’s open tomorrow and will phone when salon empty!
Scaco= goodluck with chemo today! Quilts, hot drinks in revovery tent tonight.
Tracey - hope you don’t catch cold.
Peachez, glad you’re seeing BCN tomorrow looking forward to hearing everythin OK X X X
Donna - fingers crossed- and toes !
Choccie - don’t wish too hard! Before you know it you’ll be starting all over driving grandchildren!
TSR. My sister did just that! Caravan for eldest son in garden. It was so disgusting no one ventured in!However he smelled OK ate and showered in the house ans his mum did his washing lol

TSR, I LOVE The caravan idea - thing is, there’s a covenant in my house deeds that prevents me from having one, or the 14-yr-old would’ve been out there long ago!
CM, I was just about to post my support to TSR re caravan… cracking idea. Have log cabin thing at top of garden which we had intended to move son into… but as OH works shifts, and with me farting and sleeping with window wide open to counter flushes, he has temporarily moved in up there… so need somewhere else for son! Another county sounds quite a good plan at mo… idle little so and so…
Have had a lovely cpl of days with friends & family & dare I say it but still have hair in the run up to fec 2 so not sure what is happening with that, not even losing a little bit (YET!!)
I still had full head of hair on Friday -12 days post fec1 - sat started to come out in handfulls - wish I had gone to hairdresser as planned on Fri- It’s still covering my head but it’s getting everywhere ! Going tomorrow!
Can i come back in the woods? chemo will begin 11 march, oh my gsh all so real now. hair cut that week cant let it fall out, but having it sponsored for bc charity - but what is this i am reading about steriods? i will of course ask my onc on weds… will see him and get ct scan results. saw him last week but ran out of time but he made me feel fab! explained it all and gave me a detailed map of the woods Shar xxx
Steroids are given with chemo to help prevent nausea & any allergic reactions, i think they also help to stimulate appetite, on fec they are given just before chemo & then you are sent home with some to take over the following 4 days, with Tax it is a slightly different regime & a higher dose (i think) can make you feel a bit hyper & give you a bit of a red face & a cpl of wide awake nights but as i said its only for a few days on each cycle of treatment.
Shar - woods are always open. I’m not having tax, due to allergic reaction, but did have 2 attempts so had some dealing with steroids. They made me quite hyper and gave ma a red face but not til 2 days later, mind you i am sensitive steroids so my reaction probably a bit more extreme.
Caravan is a definite, my lad only 6 at mo but will start saving, or maybe research touring circus.
That was me,staco, the knitting crab. I have to see chemo witch today so have summoned the bringiton fairy.
My hair is still growing and I hope it doesn’t go on this weekly tax…randomly the eyebrows are making a bolt for the woods.
Srr you all in the JM later.
Marygrace, hope you are ok and managing some good distraction techniques

Shar, keep a list of anything negative, because things like the steroids can be adjusted to suit the individual. In a similar way, some people need stronger anti-emetics or more laxitives. A lower dose of dex over 3 days suits me better than a high dose for 2 days, for example, even if I have to be more careful of my stomach. Obviously, if you have a serious SE for the chemo or the steroid (and you may not know which it is), phone your contact numbers right away; if it’s less serious or just uncomfortable, bring it up at your next appointment.
Hi all,
my wonderful sister has broughgt me up to Worcs for some serious looking after. I’m here for the week while my equally wonderful neice and nephew keep my boy entertained.
Half term and off sick isn’t really on is it but at least I have escaped chores.
Hope all having chemo this week are in fine form and we can form another escape commitee from colds, temperatures etc.
My steriods have worn off and neuralasta jab has kicked the bone marrow awake. Right eyebrow is still in situ. Bring me some nurophen and a hot water bottle please.
Sue
SCACO, I’m sure you could adapt a merkin to use as a beard for your new dwarf as long as it’s an unworn one, to keep the PC brigade away from you for child molestation or cruelty!
I’ll provide the rest of the troop. Got my three, plus two more for half term, for reasons best known to myself…
Why does my house feel like it has shrunk?? Why do teenagers go from grim silence to 200 decibels, with no setting in between? Why do four year olds get up at 6am, and teenagers not go to bed till 4am??
Been to see Dr re reddening around Mx scar. Had ultra sound. Was told that no sign of puss building up, (lovely) , and also unlikely to be mets while on chemo – the cynic in me says ‘they would say that wouldn’t they’ – then told that sometimes this is an effect of Chemo – anyone heard of this before?? Not reassured that much as he then made me an urgent appointment to see my Onc at 9am tomorrow before FEC3 can go ahead at 10 … ho hum… have stopped wearing heavy silicone boob and gone back to softie for time being …
Sarah021210; my hair clung on to a week past Fec2, bald 12 days later! Still have eyebrows and lashes hanging on though! Sounds like you could donate it to SCACO for a fake beard for her son so he can join the circus when it does go
Sue, sending hottie bottle and nurophen, enjoy your week away!
Hope everyone having treatments/SEs/colds/human Kleenex moments (lol!!) are as well as can be just now.
