Not helped by stupid cat sitting on my lap and purring. He’s one of those dribblers and every time he purrs he’s like a tap. Stupid animal keeps putting his face over the keyboard and dribbling. Ugh!

CM, so sorry. Understand you might not want to post what’s up on here but if I can do anything to help via pm just say. I have had all manner of financial, relational, lonely, bereavement and kids type of challenges. I am a one-woman soap opera. Sorry you are so upset by whatever it is. Can i come back into the woods, im getting nearer to chemo date, hair cut date and i have today had my first wig fitting plus scarves and bandanas. the wig lady was great,and she is getting me a special wig like my own dark locks that they use for asian women but its all getting claustophobic now so much to take in and prepare for this part of the woods… any advice, calming words… Shar x

shar -we’ve been tent watching whilst you were away.
Try not to panic, spend some time in the spa tent and then pop in the JM for a medicinal spirit. there’s a well worn path into the woods, if you look down the field you’ll see the ‘two-fingered-salute’ flag, that’s the safe path. It has a trail of empty bottles and if you follow them you’ll find the first camp fire. It’s safe amd warm there, you can pitch your tent and sleep easy.
Look carefully and you’ll see distant fires of us who are ahead of you and if you look further you’ll see the torches of those the other side. We are here honey x
Shar, regarding the query on the other thread about smells: after a few days, when all the chemicals are exiting your system, you might find that some kind of loo odour remover or air freshener is helpful. That stage has only lasted a few days for me so far. I don’t like strong artificial smells, so I prefer things like a spray for neutralising pet smells, aromatherapy candles, cooks candles and the like. You’ll still want to drink plenty of water at that stage, anyhow.

Shar- my friend who is a lot younger than me lol has long blonde hair which she wears straight and she got a wig same colour and a bit longer and hairdresser trimmed it! Nobody new she had a wig , not even her neighbours! They used to ask her what conditioner she used! Thinking about it while you still have hair is something I think most of us have dreaded. 2nd day post fec but no SE so far apart from a woolly head and drinking copious amounts of fluid.
Anyway, phoned Judy Plum Wigs to see about second wig and got the answer machine. Said! “hi this is Margaret Muir and my phone number is 0169883no 2 aw for goodness sake!” and hung up! Gonna be so embarrassed phoning back tomorrow.
Then it got worse - started to tell the whole family who were in the living room and started laughing- so hard I had to run to loo but only got half way through living room ! The place was in an uproar my slippers were full as well. Once Bill sobered up he had to get out the mop and bucket- thank goodness for laminate floors!
I’ve warned them all not to tell their friends!
Def going to be in the JM tonigh but I’ve changed my clothes ! Now goin to wear Jeans, checked shirt, new cowboy boots, Stetson and carrying lassoo and rifle and I’ll be singing "She’ll be coming round the mountain when she comes!

Bleedin’ 'eck, ladies, I nearly got trampled in the stampede of hugs, I’d asked for soft fluffy ones, you sent industrial strength by the ton, all with hob-nail boots on! Phew!
Have also had a stern talking-to from someone from another thread (she’s managed to avoid the woods, prefering to stay a little closer to reality, I think) and I’m feeling much better. Thank you for helping me through my bit of a wobble.
Now which monster was it that left wobble-slime all over the path? I’d best get and clean it up to prevent anyone else falls over in it, it gets everywhere, even in your ears, so you can’t hear the words of good advice…
Back off to my tent now, I could do with a good night’s sleep. (And all this crap before I’ve even started with the poisons, WTF am I going to be like once chemo and tamoxifen get hold of my poor battered brain cells? I shudder to think.)

Been out all evening and just come back to find a wobbly CM! Hugs from me to you choccie, hope whatever it is has done a runner now. you can have soft fluffy hugs or industrial strength ones - whichever take your fancy.
By the way, does anyone know anything about unofficial fostering of over 16s? i.e. helping out a potentially homeless teenager with the approval of social services, but not as a fully approved foster carer? Please PM me if you do! Thanks.

Hi everyone, back with you all again! Sarah massive thanks for finding me. Had my head stuck firmly up my ar@@ and couldnt get it out. So many worries in my head, also trying to release an early retirement pension to ease financial worries, soooo much red tape. Onwards and upwards though, I will get through this, 4th chemo next week and already feeling sick at the thought of it, oh no here I go again, WHAT is up with me. CM---- sorry im late with the hug, but i couldnt find the tissues, so i grabbed a toilet roll (buy 4 get 6) and ran to the tent but slipped over some slime that was hagginf about, i fell flat on my butt, got cramp in my legs, went all hot and passed out, so now the toilet roll is squashed and soggy, but im still sending you a big hug,
