I had my suspicion mammo/US on 9/9/19 and it took 2 months of referrals, authorizations, tests, blood work, biopsy, port placement to finally start. That time was the worst! Strange to get to a point where I was begging for chemo. Two biopsy results kept came back equivocal, which meant further testing. Finally, after insurance denied further testing I paid 500 out of my pocket to get it done. I had prepared for the worst. I was delightfully surprised after first treatment side effects minimal. Constipation a biggie, but I’ve tended to always be a bit constipated. 2 stool softners and a healthy hydrated, fruit/veggie diet doing the trick. Back ache another one, but also manageable, I’ve also had a hx. Of back pain (herniated disc), so used of that discomfort. Actually, after my second treatment I am full of ENERGY! Actually, a bit euphoric, unbelievable strength and stamina(guess that’s the steroids) decade on.mi am also with the attitude to do as much as I can while I can in case the side effects increase as they accumulate, and before surgery which will be in about 5-6 months. I am dreading the HAIR LOSS. Hasn’t happened yet, but I’m sure it will. Got the wig picked out, but not purchasing until it happens. I threw my boyfriend out of my house last night due to the STRESS he has caused me for almost 4 years. I truly believe my implant surgery 2 1/2 years ago (very stressful), and the stress of a TOXIC relationship contributed to my dx. of CANCER. I feel that STRESS HORMONES decrease your immune system and are a contributing factor. I am a nurse and know it’s GENETIC (out of our control) and ENVIRONMENTAL (within our control to some degree). I will have a hard time staying away from him. We have a CODEPENDANT relationship. I have to put ME first. I need to HEAL, be POSITIVE and get through this. My journey is just beginning. I’m sending POSITIVE ENERGY to ALL. ???
