Hello
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in November 24 although it was a shock the waiting for treatment to start made me really anxious. I was told it was unacceptable to wait until January to start treatment my oncologist tried to bring it forward but no luck.
Waiting was really difficult I felt like I was riddled with cancer as my backached as soon as I was told!!!
Telling my children was really difficult which I kept putting off as I didn’t want them to be upset over Christmas. Of course they were devastated.
I have started treatment I’m having 12 weekly doses of Paxatell and immunotherapy and some other chemo added in every three weeks. So far I’m tolerating it pretty well. Apart from aching and feeling a tired and of course the upset tummy I’m doing much better than expected. I have gone for the cold cap which I have found bearable as long as I take plenty of things to take my mind off it.
I also started a walking group with my friends and we go walking 3 times a week which I have found so cathartic I feel so good after I’ve been and if I have to have a rest in the afternoon I do.
I’m trying to keep positive as I am a very positive person and I hope I’ve given some positive energy to someone. The unknown is much worse than the actual reality

@jeepers Welcome to the forum that no one wants to join but you will find so much support. I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that you are tolerating chemo well so far. I had 12 weekly Paclitaxel and cold capped and kept most of my hair, it shed and I had two small patches above my ears. So if you can keep going it can be worth it.
I also found walking helpful, although some days I could barely get out of bed.
There is a monthly chemo starters group for January that you may like to join and get to know others going through chemo at the same time as you.
