Hello all
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer on 13 March and had a mastectomy March 27th. Because of covid I have delayed the start if my chemo, which is now scheduled for end May.
I am super nervous about starting chemo during the pandemic. Is anyone else out there currently having chemo? Do you feel safe? Any top tips you can share with me? The oncology team has been reassuring about me accessing safe services but i have 3 tiny children at home which is an added complication in terms of infection risk etcÂ
Would love to know how others are managing in this time, am sure its possible, just need to find the confidence to tackle it head on
Looking forward to hearingÂ

Morning Ali
We all share your worries and concerns having chemo during this pandemic.
i am part of the March chemo starters and am approaching 3rd chemo after my surgery in January.
its a worrying time but the forum is a god send.We are all in the same boat and support each other with lots of virtual hugs and love .
i have a young son which is amazing but stare your concerns for children. My son makes me smile every day so whilst it’s hard they give you a welcome distraction when you have dark days.
ill not like chemo is not easy but you have been through such big surgery so sure gig will manage and find what works for you.We all deal with symptoms differently and react differently to the same regimes.
i hope you are recovering ok after op.
if you can eat well and rest and recover before chemo starts. One thing I stand by is take one day at a time done look at calendar or diary.
you will get through it lovely
Hi, I’m in a similar position to you, diagnosed triple negative in February and after two lots of surgery on Feb 27 and Apr 2 I am starting chemo on 28 Apr. I’m terrified enough about this as it is but the virus situation is making it all so much more alarming
Hope you’re recovering well and good luck with it all
